1 year ago today: i said yes!

On Friday, June 29 of last year, Tyler proposed to me on the battery in Charleston, SC.

He and my mom had been planning this surprise for a while and they really blew me away.

To read the full recap of our weekend, check out my posts HERE (We're engaged!), HERE, and HERE (surprise engagement party). I promise they're good and very detailed!

Other than our wedding, it was one of the best weekends ever. Sadly, Tyler and I are apart this weekend, but I can promise you we are still celebrating!

Best year of my life!

happy happy happy!!!!!

Thanks for your funny comments on yesterday's ranting post. I'm really glad I didn't offend anyone and am happy to know that I'm not alone.

I've been terrible in neglecting to tell you all some happy news! Thank goodness it doesn't have anything to do with me, but I want to celebrate with my friends and share in their happiness.

This weekend is full of celebrations!

{1} Tonight I am headed to Greenville for the weekend to a) hang out with college girlfriends and b) attend our sweet Ryann's wedding. I am so thrilled to be there for her big day and I cannot wait!

Cannot wait to see her become Mrs. McCall!!!!

{2} One of my best friends, Virginia, got engaged last weekend! She was my college roommate for two years and we became super close. We actually bonded freshman year in a western civ class and went to lunch together every day.

Virginia caught my bouquet at our wedding, and honestly, I threw it at her!!!! I had been planning to do that for a long time because she and her new fiance, Bobby, have been dating since 9th grade! All of our friends adore Bobby and we are so excited to have another wedding to look forward to!

I love this moment!

Love you VA and so happy for you!

{3} I am helping host a baby shower for one of my other best friends, Rebecca on Sunday! She was my Matron of Honor in our wedding and she is due in a few short weeks. I cannot wait to be an aunt! She and her husband Tripp haven't found out the gender, so I don't know if it will be a little boy or girl yet! I cannot wait to spoil the little one rotten! Baby Love will be the first real baby in my life!

So much to celebrate. I love my sweet friends!

Oh and mini girls weekend this weekend too- cannot wait!

thursday thoughts and rants

I decided today that I should just make a list of things that are driving me crazy lately. We all have them, let's be honest. I've been a little overwhelmed with life and yes, some of these annoyances are actual real life things, the others... things like.... soffe shorts can be laughed off.. Let's begin.

Today's list of things that are driving me bat $hit crazy lately:

 1. Mean People

Of course this one is making the top of the list. Luckily, I haven't really had anyone be super mean to me lately (please lets not make this post make that happen soon, this is all in good fun), but there are just plain MEAN people out there. You know, those people who constantly comment mean things on your social media outlets (anonymous or not- if you still allow anon comments, block that shizz people). People that just don't give a crap about you or your feelings and make it their life mission to make you miserable. Why? Do you have no values, morals, heart? Rawr. Mean people are everywhere and they need to go away. What about the mean people in front of you in the grocery store line that have one million items and you have two and are in the "20 items or less" line, oh yeah and they are on food stamps but buying Oreos and shrimp. Whoops that a whole post for a later day. But seriously, why don't they ever kindly let you go in front of them?

2. Speaking of grocery stores, DOES IT DRIVE ANYONE ELSE CRAZY WHEN THE BUGGIES, CARTS, WHATEVER YOU CALLTHEM AREN'T CORRECTLY RETURNED? I swear every time I go to BiLo, Walmart, Publix, Target, etc, those buggies (sorry I'm from the south and I'm not talking about the Amish here) are all over the parking lot. How hard is it to walk them to their return spot!?!?! Not hard people, not hard. And I know I've hit one of those suckers before. Welcome to America where we are lazy and don't return shopping carts.

Yup I took these.

3. ALL CAPS

I was taught by a very incredibly fabulous English professor at Wofford that ALL CAPS in writing meant you are screaming. Why yes, I did just write above in all caps, but I usually scream when I get in my car about the buggies left all over the parking lot. There is no need to send a professional work email in all caps. No reason. Drives me nuts and I feel like the person is screaming at me to change my voicemail password because the email was in all caps. Dr. Wilson, I hope you don't read my blog because I would be MORTIFIED (in a screaming voice).

4. Mosquitos

These little f-er's are ruining my life. If you didn't know, I interned for a power company in 2010 that had an environmental division, as well as a vector management division (that means pest control basically). I was mortified that I was being rotated through mosquito camp for two weeks one summer, but it turned out to be two of the best weeks of my life. I learned so much about those pesky things. If you have dog bowls left outside, puddles of water, or a pond like we do behind your house, you better believe you have a breeding ground for mosquitos. And probably Ades Albopictus (yep I know the scientific name) who love to lay little eggs in the standing water and make your life miserable. I may or may not have emailed our homeowners association to kindly ask them to spray for them. I didn't even have to break out my work email (because we insure them) and threaten the "C" (claim) word. Heaven forbid I catch west nile.

Every time I walk outside those suckers eat me alive. Evidence:

That's my arm and that bite's the size of a quarter. Allergic much?
5. Soffe Shorts

It's not 2003. If you are over 14 years old and still wear soffe shorts, PLEASE toss them, goodwill them, wear them as underwear but don't wear them to the gym.

That's all I'll say about that.

6. The Paula Deen situation

Can we just leave her alone? The lady said a derogatory word and its like she killed someone. Oh and it was 30 years ago. Don't we have bigger and better things in our country to worry about? We've all said something inappropriate or mean (see #1) before and apologized. I don't really know what else to say about this other than its annoying the crap out of me and I want it to go away. I don't even love the woman, but I have been to her restaurant in Savannah (shout out to you Cornbread and Sushi class lovers) and she does make some dang good fried green tomatoes. I can tell you about 025852039575 other people who are much more racist than Paula will ever be.

I forgive you Paula. I do.

Well, that's all folks.

Please tell me, what is annoying you lately?
