Happy Birthday, Ryann!!

Happy 21st Birthday to my sweet Ryann!

Long before I was involved in the blogging world, Ryann and I were real friends!

In case you don't follow her blog, you should. You can find her at { unspeakable joy }!

Ryann and I began our friendship thanks to our fabulous sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. I was Vice President and poor Ryann was Philanthropy Chair underneath my command direction. We worked long and hard on fundraisers together and got to be really close and good friends! She is such a sweetheart and a friend that everyone should have! Ryann then became Historian of our chapter (which was one of my old positions), and we kind of began our silly Mini-me-ness. I know she wants to be justtttt like me (hehe just kidding, please don't!) Site note: Our chapter is pretty badass. I have to brag a little because I never get to anymore.. Our chapter was ranked #2 of over 150 in summer 2010. I was one proud sister! When they go to convention this summer, we better be getting an award again, especially if Ryann was the one completing the paperwork to send to our International Office (uh what a lengthy process!). Anyways, now Ryann is VP and poor thing has to read all of my old notes! Sorrrrrry!

I am so proud of her for many reasons! Ryann is super smart, a great friend, compassionate, creative, and so loving! She has always been there when I need a pick-me-up!

So go to her blog and wish her a happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great 21st, Mini-me!! Drink a Margarita!!!! Or 5 for me!! xoxoxoxox

Cara's Wedding + Nashville

This weekend Tyler and I headed south to Music City for my sweet friend Cara's wedding! Cara was my angel in the summer of 2009 when we were counselors at Camp Greystone. Needless to say, I wanted to leave halfway through the summer (and she did too!) but we stuck in there and ended up being co-counselors for 2 weeks and survived some crazy 10 year olds. That's a whole different post for a whole different day!! Cara is a wonderful girl, inside and out. We are the type of friends who have only seen each other twice now since that summer, but we pick up right where we left off!

I was so excited to be invited to her wedding and finally meet the sweet man in her life, Seth!

Cara's wedding was SO her-- lots of pink, and very country chic! Her style truly showed in the church AND in her adorable barn reception!

5k under 28!

To a lot of you, this may be a boring post, but as I've mentioned before, my blog is a way for me to document what has been going on in my life!

I've started running lately and really want to run a half marathon this fall. I'm running a bunch of 5k's to keep goals. This weekend I ran the "Races for All Paces" 5k in a town about 25 miles away. The hospital put it on, and it was not half as fun as the 10k I ran in Champaign.

My goal was to finish in under 28 minutes. It was so hot and I wasn't as mentally prepared for this race. I had to not let myself walk when I really wanted to, especially up this hill that I wasn't expecting!

pre-race

and we're off

so ready to finish

almost done!

I finished in 27:40-- thats 20 seconds under my goal! YIPPEE!!

It was SO hot!! Even at 8 am!

My #1 cheerleader!

Next race: 5k for Cystic Fibrosis put on by some of my friends here in town on June 2!

Bring it on!

Bye Bye Blackberry

hello iphone!

I finally switched yesterday. It hurt to pay for such an expensive phone but I already love my iphone! My blackberry (well, Tyler's old one) was very slow and we have both been really excited about the possibility of having Siri on our side!

I have so many questions and my poor coworker has been texting her daughter all morning with my questions. And shoutout to Virginia and Leah for getting me started with some Apps! Such good friends I have!!!

Now I need everyone to tell me which Apps to get and all of the best iphone advice! [please :)]

Ready, set, GO!

So far I have the basics: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Pinterest, Google Earth, Draw Something, Fox News, My Fitness Pal, the Weather Channel, Nike + GPS, TV Guide.. What else!?!? And if they aren't free, they better be worth it! :) :)

Thanks in advance! Hope you had a good weekend! I accomplished my goal of running my 5k in 28 minutes. I finished in 27:40. Will upload those sweaty pictures tomorrow!

Ta ta and I'm off to play with my phone (or work I guess),

Friday Fancies: Chambray

Chambray

I can honestly say I don't own anything chambray. And truth be told, I had to look up what I was trying to design. Whoops. Not in the fashion world, obviously. {av} is so creative!

Linked up for Friday Fancies!

What do you think about chambray?

Happy Weekend!

Weekends + Chair Fabric!

Whoops, I am SO behind posting about last weekend! Excuse me!!

Here is a snapshot of last weekend:

I FINALLY got the fabric to cover my chairs!!

What do you think!?!

I finally just had to decide on something!

I felt so accomplished last Saturday-- Sams, Hobby Lobby, and the consignment store ALL before 10:30 am! That is impressive.

In the afternoon I covered my chairs of course then had a turkey fry at our friends' house. Tyler and I provided all of the fried food for our Midwestern friends! We had fried turkey and hush puppies! It was so good! I also tried out Bud Light's Lime-a-ritas. HELLO delicious!

"Just one more- their signature saying for one more beer"

We obviously live a very country life. I don't hate it!

This weekend consists of:

5k for me at 8 am Saturday

Nailing down the seats of those chairs!

Getting my brakes fixed

Planning for Nashville next weekend (any good suggestions on things to do????)

Buy a wedding gift for a friend

Get an iphone (hopefully!)

So excited that tomorrow is Friday. This has been the longest week and today was such a drag!

What are your weekend plans?

Ta ta,
