Cinco de Drinko!

Oh man did we have fun this weekend in Iowa!! I don't think I have really ever celebrated this festive holiday and I am so glad we got to visit Jeremy and Christie.

Like I have mentioned before, Jeremy and Tyler are college best friends. They both work in agriculture, actually for competitor companies, and it is so funny to hear them talk about work.

Friday night (after a little mishap with my car- it got backed into in my coworkers driveway, whoops, but not too much harm done!), we got into town about 8:30. We got stuck on the Mississippi River bridge because a barge full of grain was passing down the river. I wanted to jump out and take a picture, but Tyler didn't think that was too safe, so I got an inside shot instead.

We took Sarge with us. He is the absolute BEST dog to travel with in the car!! He enjoyed watching the sunset.

We unloaded, changed, and headed out to two local bars. I was a little sleepy, so we ended up not staying out TOO late listening to the terrible band with the screaming lead singer. We came home and watched Sarge and Jackson (their lab/basset pup) play.

Saturday we went to see Jeremy's grain elevators, see Burlington, eat lunch, check out a local casino (my first time whoo!), and get the finishing touches for our Cinco de Mayo party.

Let me tell you, if you have ever had a party where mustaches are involved, you had a REAL party. I paid $4 for 12 of these mustaches and they were worth every penny, along with my sombrero. We even had a pinata (an adult pinata- filled with things that I don't want to advertise because I know I'll get a call from my mom asap telling me to delete them-- sorry mom)!

Lots of margaritas, Coronas, and my sombrero cookies were consumed and then we decided to walk a few blocks to this little bar who had this awesome one man band playing, sombreros and all. I'm not sure the locals loved our dancing and debauchery, but I sure did!!

The mustaches stayed out for the rest of the night. They really are a great addition to any Fiesta themed party!

Sad that it was back to reality last night. Guess that means it is time for another road trip???

How did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I am now convinced May 6 should be Seis de Hungover Day fo sho.

Ta ta,
