1. I'm HOME!!!!

We made the drive over 2 days Wednesday and Thursday and man oh man I am so happy to be out of that truck! I was in Tyler's truck (luckily with XM radio) and he was in the 24 foot Budget rental truck. We packed that sucker full!

2. Friday Fancies

3. Blog Design

I am getting a blog design! I have been putting it off and finally on my drive yesterday it hit me! I'll have a new name and a design made by Aubrey and I am SOOOO excited!

4. Two months! 

We get married in less than TWO MONTHS! It is seriously crunch time!! More list making, decision making, gym hitting, healthy eating, planning, etc. I keep telling myself- Jamaica! Jamaica! Jamaica!

5. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who has been super supportive this week. It was a long process with Tyler leaving his job-- his current company wanted him to stay with them and we sort of had a fiasco trying to figure out if we were moving to Beaufort, SC or the Florence, SC area. Luckily, our prayers were answered and we had a very easy decision to make! Now if only I can find a job in Beaufort. Ah, add that to your prayer list!

Come Tour OUR Home!

So many exciting posts lately it seems! Nothing dull and boring here, ladies and gents!

We went and visited our new home before Christmas and instantly fell in love. We found it online and quickly contacted the realtor to have a friend go by and look at it. My new bff in Beaufort, Anna was so sweet and checked out a couple of houses for me. The first one was in the ghetto so we quickly ruled that out! You never know what kind of neighborhood you'll get in the south!

This house is just what we need-- 3 bed, 2.5 bath, garage, nice sized kitchen, and a front porch! A single bachelor marine was living in the house when we went by. You could immediately tell a single guy lived in the house because a) his mattress was on the floor b) there were hoochie pinups on the wall c) it was almost impossible to turn the lock. When the realtor sent us the pictures earlier last week of the house all cleaned and ready to move in, we both went crazy with excitement! I've started eying some furniture online that I need  want!

So without further adieu... Welcome to our home :)

The BIG Announcement!

I am soooooo relieved that I can finally announce that.....

TYLER AND I ARE MOVING!

BEAUFORT, SC!!!!!

I seriously cannot contain my excitement. We have known about this opportunity for an entire YEAR and it has been 50% official since July and 100% official since October. Whew! Am I a good secret keeper or WHAT!?!?!

Tyler accepted a job in between Beaufort and Bluffton and we are thrilled! He'll be doing something similar to what he is doing now. Unfortunately, I had to leave my job before Christmas. Unemployment is no fun, but it has been wonderful to spend time at home and actually wedding plan. I moved some of my things home before Christmas then flew back out to Illinois Sunday after a wedding. He put in his two weeks this morning.

Did you seem thrown off why I was tweeting about being at the gym at random hours of the day and watching an incredible amount of TV and crafting? Yeahhhhh thats why!

We have lots of packing and wrapping things up to do before we fill up a U-Haul and move south!

I cannot believe my time in Illinois is over. I guess my blog name is going to have to change. I really want to incorporate my new last name {Law} into my blog name... I've had a couple of thoughts on it, but really want to hear yours... I'll be moving from the farm to the sea so keep that in mind! I am really excited to get Aubrey to design my blog. I've been holding off since I'll be changing my name (or should I not change the name??).

Ok, now who wants to see pictures of our new HOME! Yes, we already have a house. I am totally sneaky! Let me know if you want me to post the pictures :)

Happy Year 1 to Me!

I cannot believe it! I have officially been in Illinois for one year TODAY!

 

On November 1, 2011, my mom and I packed my car and set out on the 12.5 hour drive from South Carolina to Illinois to start my new life here! You can see that blog post here before I left, here when I got there, and here after a few days in!

 

What a year it has been...

 

Experienced my first road trip with Tyler from IL to PA for Thanksgiving.

 

Lost my white cat Lily.

 

Went to Kansas City and Chicago.

 

Traveled home for Christmas and my best friend's wedding.

 

Took a weekend trip to Chicago in the snow.

 

Traveled to Wisconsin Dells and Minneapolis for work and hit the jackpot at the Mall of America.

 

Finally made my apartment mine.

 

Flew to Atlanta for my friend Mary's wedding.

 

Ran my first 10k race and then started running 5ks.

 

Traveled to Iowa for Cinco de Mayo with friends.

 

Drove to Nashville for a sweet friend's wedding.

 

GOT ENGAGED in Charleston!

 

Lost our family dog Abby.

 

Traveled to Pennsylvania for Tyler's grandmother's funeral.

 

Went back to Nashville for my roommate's bachelorette party.

 

Ran my first Race for the Cure for breast cancer.

 

Flew to Rhode Island for Tyler's brother's wedding.

 

My roommate got married!

 

Took a quick weekend trip home.

 

Started wedding planning!

 

Holy cow. What a list of places, things, and travels.

 

That was an entire YEAR. Can't believe it!

 

Thank all of your for your love and support over this last year! So much has happened, and so much more is in the works! Can't wait to continue sharing my life with you as I document it on my blog. I'm so thankful for the friends I have made on this blog.

Week 1: DOWN!

Can you believe I moved here ONE week ago? Geez, where has the time gone? 

I'm still trying to get into the swing of things and am so very grateful for all of the sweet messages I have been getting from friends (and new blog friends). Thanks, y'all!

After I get settled, I will be more fun to read about, I'm sure. For now, here are some pictures from the past week. I thought I took more than this, but I guess not? A couple I am working on to make a "I've Moved" card, but that is taking longer than expected. Today also marks 1 week until my birthday. Who doesn't love a birthday?

So Far, So Good...

I feel like I have been the worst blogger this week!

Trying to adjust to a new "home" and getting everything settled has been very exhausting! I am still working on decorating my apartment and will get pictures up when I am finished. I will also keep you updated with my adjustment as soon as I can get my emotions together and get in a routine!

"So far so good" is my quote of the week when people ask how its been going. Tyler has been such a great helper (he had all of my furniture ready in my room BEFORE Mom and I got here!) He has been so wonderful and I'm glad we can finally spend time together!

My roommates are great as well! Actually, one of them got engaged last night and I couldn't be more excited for her!!! I'll share more later!
