Craziest Two Weeks-- I'm Back!

Oops. I have zero intention of neglecting this blog for so long! Let me quickly catch you up on my life and then later I'll actually go into detail!

On the 18th, Tyler and I hopped in the car to leave his truck in Indy so when he flew back on the 1st, he had a vehicle to drive back home with. The 19th, he and I drove from 7:30 am to 6pm from Indy to South Carolina for Christmas. I'm working from home for a few weeks to try to get some wedding things done with mom, so I had to pack my car with enough clothes and things to get by for the next few weeks.

Thursday I ran errands and tried to get my life together and organized.

Friday I had my first dress fitting!!!!! I am so excited that my dress isn't form fitted AT ALL, now I just need to work on these arms! Friday night we had a rehearsal dinner for our friends Travis and Chelsea.

Saturday I had my first shower hosted by two of my favorite BFFs and their moms and sisters.

Saturday night we had Chelsea and Travis's wedding and Tyler was a groomsman.

Sunday I had to take Tyler to the airport to go see his family and I finished up some Christmas shopping in Columbia.

Monday was Christmas Eve so Christmas festivities began at my aunt and uncle's with shrimp and grits and Christmas Eve service at my church.

Tuesday we open gifts at my parents house, then go to my mom's side of the family. That night, we go to my dad's side.

Wednesday is actual Christmas at MiMis. She loves Christmas and gives the best gifts!

Thursday Mom and I flew to PA to be with Tyler's family.

Friday night we had a wonderful engagement party hosted by Tyler's family and Dad flew up that day.

The Law's Newtown, CT friends came for the party!

Toasts

Saturday I was exhausted! Mom and Dad got stuck in the Philly airport do to aircraft issues for 10 hours! We went to see a movie and just chilled.

Sunday 7 of us piled in an SUV and drove to western PA to see Ken's mom and grandmother. It was so wonderful finally getting to meet them!

Monday Tyler and I tied up loose ends and packed to leave Tuesday.

Tuesday was travel day.

So do you see why I have been so MIA? This is the first time I've really sat down at a computer. Whew. I'll try to stay consistent blogging, but I can't promise anything!

Thanks for reading!!

Christmas Card Link-up

I loooooove Christmas cards! I knew I had to link up with Kristen when I saw her link up today!!

I'm kind of in love with these.

Excuse the crappy quality-- I took a picture of the back of the postcard on the computer!

Then I ran out of them and had to scoop these up from Hobby Lobby!

Thoughts on Thursday

My mind is all over the place. Thank you to everyone who gave me honeymoon destination advice! We are still researching but I hope we can nail this down SOON.

This is a hodge podge of a post today, so.... sorry!

- I've been training the new guy at work the past 2 days and it is draining me! I also haven't had my social media time like I usually do. I feel so unplugged!

- One Kings Lane had the BEST things today! I totally ordered 5 things for myself (all very reasonably priced) to have my grandmother give me for Christmas. She LOVES Christmas and loves to give lots of little gifts! Here is what I picked out and ordered:

Mail Tub

How cute is this mail tub to throw all of your junk mail in when you come home?

Square Tray
Coffee table tray. Enough said.

Textured Vase

I wouldn't even have to put flowers in here, it is just so genuinely pretty!

Deer Bookends

I debated getting these but just did it. I think they'd be great on a bar... Very Tyler's style don't you think??

Silver Pineapple

Such a typical southern decorative item!

- I believe Tyler and I have found "our" house! Can't tell anything about it yet, though!

- I go home for Christmas on Wednesday! Yippee!

- I have a huge peppermint problem. Did you see my Instagram picture last night? (@charlotteperrow)

Oops. I can't resist. I will be baking this weekend for sure.

- My life is about to get CrAzY between the holidays and work and planning!

- We got our first wedding gift! I have the best friends.

- Y'all all need to follow thedailytay.com. Taylor is flipping hilarious!

That's it. Brain is done for today.

Ta ta,

Merry Christmas from Sarge!

It's no secret we love our 5 year old black lab hunting retriever. He is supposed to be an outside dog who sleeps outside and retrieves ducks. Since he has been in Illinois (1.5) with Tyler (and me), he is now our best canine friend.

What can I say? He is too adorable and friendly to be an outside hunting dog. We think he might have been a little abused when he was with his past owner, so we love to smother him with love. And that we do well.

One thing that I love to do that Tyler HATES is when I buy him dog clothes. This has only happened twice now... Once at Halloween, and now Christmas. Every dog needs a Christmas sweater. He is so calm, cool, and collective, he doesn't even freak out when you put clothes (or antlers) on him.

He has a little scab on his ankle (do dogs have ankles?) from his week at doggie hunting camp over Thanksgiving, hence the ace bandage on his leg. The one day we take it off and he gets to visit my apartment he got up on my bed and his little nasty paw goo got on my bed. EW. He's also not allowed on the furniture!

Anyways, without further adieu, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from our beloved Sargie!

He really doesn't like the straps behind his legs..

Hahaha

He's like "dad help me"

Model pose

We were yelling "ducks! ducks!" to get his ears to perk up!

Our sweet pup!

Merry Christmas!

xoxo

Stocking Stuffer: Sallie's Greatest

I need to introduce all of you to Sallie's Greatest. Sallie is a really good family friend of mine. For years, she was in the pharmaceutical industry, but then she started making her homemade jam. Very quickly it turned from a hobby to a business!

I've had the luxury of working with Sallie a few times and my family buys her jam religiously! I sold her jam for her a few times as well as worked with her with the Certified SC Grown program the past few years. Sallie mixes everyday SC fruit with herbs to make a truly unique product. If you didn't know, I am all about agriculture, especially supporting local farmers and producers. If you are too, look no further than Sallie's Greatest! I love her "Love Thy Farmer" tagline. So very fitting! And if you've never seen a real field of cotton, there you go!!

Some of her jams include:

To make things even more exciting, Sallie's Greatest was recently chosen as one of Oprah's 2012 Favorite Things!! This is huge for her business! The jams were also featured in Garden and Gun Made in the South. If you go to the link, you may have to scroll to the bottom and find the jam in the widget.

Her jam is to die for! We use it lots of ways.. mainly as normal jam, but also to add to an appetizer.

My favorite is the Blueberry + Lavender, especially on bleu cheese! Ty is a huge bleu cheese fan!

1 block of Bleu Cheese
1/2 jar of Blueberry + Lavender Jam
Spoon ½ jar of Sallie’s Greatest Blueberry + Lavender Jam over a block of Bleu Cheese. Serve with crackers.

You can find all of her yummy recipes here.

Seriously, order a couple for your family members for Christmas. I promise they won't disappoint!

This post was not sponsored by Sallie's Greatest and I am not receiving anything for this post. All opinions are my own!

Thursday Thoughts

I'm going to be honest. I really don't have much to blog about so this is going to be a random post!

Have you seen that Pinterest finally rolled out private boards today? I am so excited! I'm sick of having to save pictures on my desktop instead of putting them in a folder online! I want to keep a lot of my wedding info secretive so my wedding looks original and not overdone online! Read the article from the Today Show here.

Land's End is having a great sale that lasts until next week! It is great!! Thanks to Megan for filling me in!

This cold weather here is making me feel awful! I hate the cold, dry weather. My face fels gross and the barametric pressure is just a-killin' my head! My poor coworker has pneumonia, so I'm going to take her some soup at lunch!

I am SO glad the election is over. Now if everyone can calm down about Obama's re-elction. Some of us may not be happy about it, but what can we do? All the social media hatred needs to stop NOW!

I have gotten some of my sweet friends birthday gifts from Crystal's Boutique! Can't wait for them to receive them! November is the month of birthdays for a lot of my friends!

I need to start Christmas shopping! I just HATE the thought of buying things and then having to ship them home for Christmas, so I guess I will order everything online this year. Byebye bank account!

I've been kicking butt at work the past few weeks. Pretty proud of myself! Now if only I can get some commission checks to come in! :)

Did you see my fantastic buy last weekend? I found these boots at Target for $10.06! They were on sale after someone returned them from online! I was THRILLED!!

Well, that's all for now! Back to the blog tomorrow for #FridaysFancies. Happy Thursday!

Peppermint > Pumpkin

It's only the first few days of November and people are already going crazy over Christmas! Halloween was just over, now Christmas things are all over the place in stores. I can't believe it! While I like November because its my birthday month (10 days to be exact), I also think Thanksgiving is very important and shouldn't be overlooked!

With that said, I love Thanksgiving, but I love even more the food and goodies that post-Thanksgiving brings. I feel like this fall everything has been pumpkin-ed out.. I am now ready for peppermint season!

This weekend Tyler and I were out running errands while I found about 100 new peppermint things that I am now obsessed with.

First, I love a white chocolate peppermint mocha (skinny) 10000x more than any pumpkin spice latte. Can I get an Amen?? I mean, the pumpkin latte's are nice, but I much prefer the peppermint mocha! And I could honestly care less if its in a red Starbucks cup or a purple cup! I also saw McDonald's has them out, too! I don't have a Starbucks close by, so McDs will have to do for now!

I also came across these FABULOUS peppermint white chocolate M & Ms! HOLLA!! These are amazing. I am going to have to stock up for the rest of the year!!

Then, I was getting some last minute groceries before Tyler's dad got here and found this chex mix. It is divine. I still have a stomach ache from eating half of the bag yesterday. I'm not even kidding!

I discovered this deliciousness last winter... I don't love the taste of this coffee as much as I love the incredible smell! Sometimes I just want to make the coffee to make the house smell nice!

I saw these while in Wal-Mart, grabbed them and thought... "I'll find a good recipe for them later!" Well, I did just as I was looking for the picture on Google!

source
How amazing do these look? I swear, finding food blogs is destroying my wedding diet!!

source
I cannot wait to make these! I'm so excited!!

I may be a huge weirdo, but I love things peppermint flavored, but not plain peppermints. Yes, weird.

What is your favorite peppermint recipe? Send them my way PLEASE!!!!!

Have a great Monday!

It's OK

It's OK that I am being so lazy tonight.

It's NOT OK that I am being lazy because I have a TERRIBLE sinus infection. Thank goodness for meds!

It's OK to cheat a little on my diet. I mean, my grandmother did sent us back with treats.

It's OK that I haven't joined a gym yet. $60/month + 50 sign on is a little silly to pay- this town only has like 2400 people! Guess its workout DVDs after I recover.

It's NOT OK that I haven't formally thanked my Secret Santa, Dayna on my blog for my gifts! I have yet to take a picture and was behind on receiving my gift because I was out of town when I received it! She gave me some yummy smelling lip gloss, a candle, and some cotton smelling goodies from Bath and Body Works. Perfect! Cotton is my favorite smell!

Thanks for the linkup, Emily, Ashley, and Crystal!

I was Secret Santa to eTm at Simply Southern Me! I had fun collecting her goodies!

Anyways, It's OK that I just went on that little side note!

And its ALL OKAY BECAUSE TOMORROW IS FRIDAY! So excited about a weekend with nothing to do!

Who was your Secret Santa?

Ta ta,
