Thanksgiving in South Carolina (Overdue Post)

I just had to take last week off from blogging. I'm back now, though!

Here is my recap of my week at home over Thanksgiving! Lots of pictures to share.

Wofford v. South Carolina game

I raced from the airport to Williams Brice at 11:30 when I walked (ran) off the plane to tailgate! I may have had a few mimosas in the airport. I was also in such a hurry that I dropped my phone and shattered the screen, but I had too much adrenaline and excitement to see my friends to really care... Though Wofford lost, we put up a good fight!

It was the military appreciation game

Came home to birthday flowers from Tyler

Went to a really good friend from home + Wofford's wedding!

Isn't Cally beautiful!? We are getting married in the same church so I was excited to see a wedding in the church and see friends!!

Cake tasted in my own house! My birthday cake on the right is the cake we are having!

Stared at this view of my back yard for hours....

Hung out with this diva!

Had 2 rounds of Thanksgiving food with my family

Frierson cousins at my uncle's farm house

Cotton photo shoot

Fly-in at the Rasts, a really good family friend's property! It was SO fun!! Lots of planes!

Also lots of old cars. These two are my uncle's newest additions. I LOVE the blue truck!

Played basketball at my high school and beat the varsity girls team -- see the scoreboard!!

Then we had to come home and miss the South Carolina / Clemson game. We got to watch the 2nd half in Indy.

In between, I registered for china, got the guys' tuxes, and worked on lots of wedding plans. See why I was so tired last week and needed a blog break!!!!??

Happy Monday!

Peppermint > Pumpkin

It's only the first few days of November and people are already going crazy over Christmas! Halloween was just over, now Christmas things are all over the place in stores. I can't believe it! While I like November because its my birthday month (10 days to be exact), I also think Thanksgiving is very important and shouldn't be overlooked!

With that said, I love Thanksgiving, but I love even more the food and goodies that post-Thanksgiving brings. I feel like this fall everything has been pumpkin-ed out.. I am now ready for peppermint season!

This weekend Tyler and I were out running errands while I found about 100 new peppermint things that I am now obsessed with.

First, I love a white chocolate peppermint mocha (skinny) 10000x more than any pumpkin spice latte. Can I get an Amen?? I mean, the pumpkin latte's are nice, but I much prefer the peppermint mocha! And I could honestly care less if its in a red Starbucks cup or a purple cup! I also saw McDonald's has them out, too! I don't have a Starbucks close by, so McDs will have to do for now!

I also came across these FABULOUS peppermint white chocolate M & Ms! HOLLA!! These are amazing. I am going to have to stock up for the rest of the year!!

Then, I was getting some last minute groceries before Tyler's dad got here and found this chex mix. It is divine. I still have a stomach ache from eating half of the bag yesterday. I'm not even kidding!

I discovered this deliciousness last winter... I don't love the taste of this coffee as much as I love the incredible smell! Sometimes I just want to make the coffee to make the house smell nice!

I saw these while in Wal-Mart, grabbed them and thought... "I'll find a good recipe for them later!" Well, I did just as I was looking for the picture on Google!

How amazing do these look? I swear, finding food blogs is destroying my wedding diet!!

I cannot wait to make these! I'm so excited!!

I may be a huge weirdo, but I love things peppermint flavored, but not plain peppermints. Yes, weird.

What is your favorite peppermint recipe? Send them my way PLEASE!!!!!

Have a great Monday!

Thanksgiving "Break"

I plan to take a couple of days off from blogging to enjoy family, help cook, and get ready for the engagement party that we are having for Tyler's brother and fiance! I'm not sure if I will give in and blog or not but it may happen because it has been a great break from all of the hustle and bustle of the house over the past couple of days!

Today consisted of lots of grocery shopping for "Christmas dinner" tonight (we're doing it tonight because we will not all be together on Christmas), for Thanksgiving tomorrow, and for the party on Friday. It is busy, busy, busy here. I finally even got to check my work email today for the first time. Whew.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Side note....

Thanks, Ryann for my first blog award. How exciting! Check her out at { joy, joy, unspeakable joy }! Love this girl, aka my mini-me! We are ZTA sisters and great friends from college.

Top 5 Tuesday

Just Peachy
Top 5 Tuesday linkup with Rachel at Just Peachy!

Today's theme is Thanksgiving!

1. Food

This is my first Thanksgiving without my family, so I am going to experience new foods on Thanksgiving day! My family has 2 sets of dinners on Thursday: one at lunch and one at dinner. It is seriously a food overdose!!

Moms family (lunch): Turkey, country ham, sweet potato casserole, asparagus casserole, rolls, rice, butter beans, dressing + more!

Dads family (dinner): Turkey, country ham, dressing, rice and gravy, string beans, butter beans, butternut squash casserole, MiMi's macaroni (will have to do a post on this sometime), shrimp casserole, fruit salad (like 3 kinds), broccoli salad + more. Seriously so much food!

I will have to report what we have with Tyler's family. My dish to make is my grandmothers sweet potato casserole. It's my all-time fav!

Wish I had a good picture to go along with this one!

2. Family

Again, first time away from my family for Thanksgiving, BUT I love spending time with this family!

Tyler's Graduation December 2011

3. Relaxation

Hello Law and Order SVU Marathons, Pedicures, and Sleeping!

4. Making a Christmas List

This will come in a post soon!! I just made my list and sent it to the appropriate persons (Did you get it, Mom?)

5. A Special Day

This coming Saturday will be one year ago when I met sweet Tyler at the South Carolina v. Clemson game. Look for a post about that soon, too! Can't believe it's been a whole year. Wow!

Happy Tuesday!
