confession: i'm a crazy cat lady

This week has just been so BLAH so today calls for a very thoughtless post. I haven't thanked you all who linked up on Tuesday, so THANK YOU! Can't wait to make some of your recipes!

I am so ready for the weekend with NO plans. Well, technically we are invited to a couples baby shower and a wedding shower for my cousin but we just really need a free weekend. The next weekends until September are slammed with weddings, parties, and events. I'm blessed with great friends and family who were totally OK with our decision to opt out of parties this weekend. I'm praying the weather stays nice so we can get some time in on the boat because we won't have time to actually relax on the boat for a while. Two weekends in June we have Beaufort Water Festival which is supposedly just a crazy weekend to drink and have fun.... so I think we just need to chill this weekend.

Thanks for listening to my rambling and please enjoy my weirdness for today.

A picture's worth a thousand words, right?

Three cats. One million pictures. Okay, I'm weird.

Is this normal?

Thanksgiving in South Carolina (Overdue Post)

I just had to take last week off from blogging. I'm back now, though!

Here is my recap of my week at home over Thanksgiving! Lots of pictures to share.

Wofford v. South Carolina game

I raced from the airport to Williams Brice at 11:30 when I walked (ran) off the plane to tailgate! I may have had a few mimosas in the airport. I was also in such a hurry that I dropped my phone and shattered the screen, but I had too much adrenaline and excitement to see my friends to really care... Though Wofford lost, we put up a good fight!

It was the military appreciation game

Came home to birthday flowers from Tyler

Went to a really good friend from home + Wofford's wedding!

Isn't Cally beautiful!? We are getting married in the same church so I was excited to see a wedding in the church and see friends!!

Cake tasted in my own house! My birthday cake on the right is the cake we are having!

Stared at this view of my back yard for hours....

Hung out with this diva!

Had 2 rounds of Thanksgiving food with my family

Frierson cousins at my uncle's farm house

Cotton photo shoot

Fly-in at the Rasts, a really good family friend's property! It was SO fun!! Lots of planes!

Also lots of old cars. These two are my uncle's newest additions. I LOVE the blue truck!

Played basketball at my high school and beat the varsity girls team -- see the scoreboard!!

Then we had to come home and miss the South Carolina / Clemson game. We got to watch the 2nd half in Indy.

In between, I registered for china, got the guys' tuxes, and worked on lots of wedding plans. See why I was so tired last week and needed a blog break!!!!??

Happy Monday!

Wedding Wednesday

This weekend I went home to do a lot of wedding things over the long weekend.

Here is what we accomplished:

I FOUND MY DRESS!!
I keep telling Tyler its purple. He doesn't even know what purple truly looks like because he is colorblind. But I think its hilarious. The first place I went to was a nightmare. It is a place where the designers send the dresses from photoshoots and you can get them discounted. Well, the lady hadn't cut the air on yet, so even 9 am was miserably hot. After 30 minutes, I begged my mom to leave and go to the next place... Where I found my dress! It was the 3rd one I tried on.

So excited!

Then we did some registry stuff and picked out my every day dinnerware. I CANNOT find any fine china that I like. What do I do!?! I have looked EVERYWHERE!? Where else do I look!? Help!!

I came across a bunch of USC stuff and sent a picture to Tyler joking that I was registering for all Carolina things. I didn't get the nicest response haha.

To take a break from wedding stuff, I made my dad a birthday cake for his big #55!

Then we worked on the dreaded list..... But its coming along. My wedding may end up being  MASSIVE. Oops.

I also got to spend lots of quality time with these two...

dumb and dumber.. seriously

We also looked at all of the invitations my mom has saved over the past 23 years (I'm not kidding either) and the ones on Reaves Engraving where we will order them from.

Monday we went and talked to the cake lady.. She has been making our birthday cakes for YEARS! I can taste the icing in my mouth already! It is so nice not to have to go to a million places to taste a bunch of cakes!

We also tried to plan some parties but this whole living a million miles away is kind of a problem.

And finally, mom and I went shopping to try to find some dresses for the end of the month... Tyler's brother is getting married in Rhode Island!

So, that is my quick recap for today!

Cats and Bikes and Cobbler

Part I: Cats

This weekend Tyler and I went to the humane society to look at cats. After my traumatic loss of Lily, I have been wanting a cat. My roommates aren't really cat people, so I had held off even looking at kitties until last Friday. I had a random thought to look online and of COURSE found an all-white cat that I just had to go see.

We got to the shelter and I just didn't feel the love with Snowflake, but I did fall madly in love with Mickey.

look at that tail!!

Long story short, I had to fill out this crazy application and ended up taking my name off the list because I realized my landlord says No Cats BUMMER. It was terrible.

I need Tyler to find a house where I can keep her! I am just so in love with her-- so sweet and cuddly!! It was love at first sight.

Part II: Bikes

I might have mentioned that I finally got the bike down the street I have been eying. Tyler was sick of me talking about it so he conned this old man into selling it for $20. It came with no brakes so I had to go get some! $5 later I was ready to roll.. Literally...

I rode 6.33 miles last night. Y'all my tailbone is KILLING ME!!!!! Oh my gosh I overdid it but I was so excited. Yikes. Ouch. Any ideas for how to ride and not hurt my booty? Currently sitting on a pillow at work.

Part III: Cobbler

You know that pin that has been floating around Pinterest?

from Living a Changed Life
I randomly had the idea to make this yesterday... And I did!

SOOO easy-- 2 bags frozen berries, 1 can sprite, 1 box cake mix!

And the final product:

I think I used too much Sprite beacuse Tyler brought home a bottle instead of a can, but we liked it surprisingly! I had a couple of bites after my long bike ride!

So, that was the chunk of my weekend. Still lusting over Mickey, but hoping it will somehow work out. I just really want a little furball to keep me happy!

Ta ta,
