This #throwbackthursday is a little abnormal.
Let me first take you back to 5th grade where I entered the state-wide Farm Bureau talent competition in Myrtle Beach. I won my county and advanced onto this competition.
I had this sweet painted rainbow in the background, Kermit sitting on top, and an awesome homemade rainbow dress made jsut for me by our seamstress. I still remember mom and me going to pick out the fabric in Orangeburg (is that store still even open by the bowling alley???).
I won 1st place in my division singing The Rainbow Connection from the Muppet Movie. I won a trophy and $100 and it was the best.day.ever. Except my microphone wouldn't cut on and I got really anxious and almost walked off of stage. But didn't. Happy Day!
Sorry that I don't have any pictures from this special day OR the video (Tyler isn't allowed to watch it yet).
Monday when I was getting my nails done (before the dog drama), this song came on the salon's awesome Pandora station that originally sounded like a break-up playlist. I had never heard the Jason Mraz version but ultimately fell in love and made my pedicure THAT much better.
Enjoy. I'll be reminiscing about 5th grade in the dirty Myrtle.

That's so precious!! I entered a talent show in 1st grade singing Allison Krauss' "When Yo Say Nothing At All" but I never got to perform. To this day I don't know why.
HAHA love this!
How cool! That song makes me happy!
I love this post! I want to see the video of you singing it ;)
