If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen last night that I had a little hair emergency. Ok, maybe it was a little more than a little. Nothing right now 17 days before the wedding is little to me!
I was getting ready for our Bible study dinner and decided to curl my hair a little bit. It is getting really long and straightening it makes it look really thin. I used one of these old school wands and it is now in the T-R-A-S-H.
I advise you if you have one to throw this stupid thing away so you never have to go through this situation.
It is very deceiving. My regular iron is in Beaufort, and so I thought this would work just as well...... WRONG!!! I guess I curled it up too far and got to the point where it was utterly and completely STUCK. There was no moving... and I had a dinner in 30 minutes.
After mom tried (and got very mad), and dad (he didn't know what to do because my hair isn't cotton), we finally decided to call Mr. Wayne, my friend Caroline's dad who has cut my hair since birth. I calmly called Caroline, her house, and finally got her fiance Chris to give me Mr. Wayne's cell number. I think he thought I was nuts when I calmly asked "Um... Mr. Wayne, this is Charlotte. Whatcha doing? Are you busy? I have a little situation... You know those curling irons with the spikes, well mine is stuck in my hair and we can't get it out." Mr. Wayne's response, "I'll be right there."
After about 20 minutes of pulling, yanking, and patiently pulling every little strand of hair out of that darn thing, I could breathe!
My dad was cracking up and taking pictures to documents this bizarre situation.
I had already done my makeup and was sweating like crazy from stress and being hot!
Y'all it was really stuck in there. This is no dramatic joke.
18 days until the wedding and seriously this happens?
I almost had bangs. If Mr. Wayne couldn't come, dad would have cut my hair!!!!!
Remember Macy Gray? I felt like her. I've never had this much volume!
After lots of combing and brushing, all of the tangles came out. My split ends are probably out of control, but I'm not really worried about that at this point. My scalp is so sore- it feels like someone hung me from the ceiling by my hair.
Lesson learned: DO NOT TRY TO MAKE WAVY CURLS WITH THIS CURLING IRON!! ONLY CURL THE TIPS OF YOUR HAIR.
Or learn the hard way.... like me!
Ouch.
