Sunday Night Already?

Disclaimer: I got distracted last night and forgot to post! Whoopsies!

Where did the weekend go?

It was so nice  to have a "free" weekend this weekend!

Friday night Tyler cooked venison casserole, a recipe from my church's cookbook! It was so good. Sometimes I am weird about eating deer meat, but this was covered in cream of mushroom soup and even fried  a bit, so it didn't taste as gamey as some deer meet.

excuse the crappy blackberry photo

Saturday Tyler and I headed to Champaign for a couple of stops...

Advanced Auto Parts- so he could pick out things to fix my squeaky brakes and I was the one paying for them!
Hobby Lobby- so I could buy things to craft!
Lowes/Sears/Menards- so he could price floor jacks to lift my car to do the brake work.
Sams Club- to become members! Hello expensive bulk items, but great, great food!
Pier 1- so I could try to use my gift card. Fail.
Petsmart- so Ty could buy Sarge food and nail clippers. Those puppies are so long and gross.
Wal-Mart- so we could finish the grocery shopping. Hello spending more moolah.

I swear when we go into town we spend a fortune, but it is so much less expensive than the IGA here in town! All of this will also last a week or 2!

After we got home, Tyler went to work on my car in the garage while I put dinner together and started my bedazzled monogrammed canvas that I found from Katie at Let's Be Preppy! I worked on it for a couple of hours last night and got this far:

Oh, and dinner was a spinoff of Plain Chicken's cheesy chicken croissants. I altered the recipe some, because last time I made them they were soupy. Our friend John came over to "help" Tyler with the car work, and maybe drink a beer or two.. or fifteen...

Today we headed to church to try out  a church we've been to once before. I think we've found the one!
After picking up lunch, I made homemade Reese's (balls not eggs or cups) for Tyler for Valentines, since we aren't really celebrating. I'll put up that recipe later! I also made a chicken taco soup. Again, recipe to come later!

Finished my bedazzled canvas:

Thanks for the inspiration and tutorial, Katie from Lets Be Preppy!

That was my weekend! Cooking/baking, and crafting!

How was your weekend?

Mom's Vegetable Soup

One of my favorite foods. Such a great winter night dinner + cornbread (Jiffy of course)

Recipe:

1 lb lean ground beef, browned
1 medium onion, chopped and sautéed
2 cans mixed vegetables, drained
1 can corn
2 cans tomatoes pureed (sometimes hard to find, sauce works too)
1 can french style green beans
2 cups water
1 small can tomato paste
salt, pepper, sugar to taste

Drain vegetables, beans, and corn.
Mix all together.
Simmer for several hours.

Great to freeze and serve later, too!

Also, saw this little gem on Wofford's website. Think I have reached celebrity status? Who knew Agriculture Recruiting would be considered Young Leader worthy? Works for me! :)

What's Your Love Story Linkup

Found this new linkup from Megan from Becky at From Mrs. to Mama!

Figured I would linkup, even though I decided not to blog tonight (such a long day at work and my rec volleyball team is really bad.. i hate losing....)

Taken Ladies

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

Since December 2010- whoops, I had down 2011 but that was last December. I was obviously not thinking clearly! It will be a year and 2 months tomorrow haha!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

I was introduced to Tyler by my best guy friend from home, Matthew, who happened to be Tyler's best friend at Clemson. We met at the South Carolina/Clemson game. That's the short version :)

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

Not married! And he better be! I moved halfway across the country for him! (Usually a joke/gilt trip- I don't really mean it in a mean way! It should be flattering to him!)

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

I'm sure I'll get married in my grandparents church in Orangeburg (at home). My home church is too small.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

Um, not really. Just the normal Ty and Char that everyone else have for us. We do talk in a weird language, though? (Cue the scene from the Proposal where Betty White is in the woods chanting the "Eee eee ooo eee eee eee oooo"- Remember that? Yes. That happens.)

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

1) He makes me laugh 2) He is so smart 3) He takes care of me (the moving process has been difficult)

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

Psh. That is totally up to him. I just don't want to be in front of ANYONE (too awkward for me) but I would LOVE for our families to be together afterwards somehow. My family is in SC, his is in PA, his brother is in TX, and we are in IL. Yeah....

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberrieschampagne, and rose petals?

Flowers for sure.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

We live on this couch watching SVU, Ax Men, Pawn Stars, Chopped, etc. He likes to be romantic but we honestly just have more fun being "normal" since we were long distance for a year.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

Travel! I'm sure we'll visit all of the hunting-friendly places in the Us. Ha ha ha.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

I think we are going to go to dinner in town and try out a new place!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

I asked for nothing and expect nothing, not even flowers. Maybe a card or a hug :) We did a big V-day last year since it was our first one, so I want things to be low-key this year!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Communication and making each other laugh. Tyler constantly does things to make me laugh and I love him for it!

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

See! He makes me laugh!

Ice skating when I lived in DC. True love

What's your love story? Linkup!

Makeover Monday #4

Makeover Monday #4!

This week's topic: Blush, Bronzer, or any other "accents" you use!

Newest Blush: Benefit Hervana

Not my 100% favorite, but I also still use my ancient Clinique blush that looks similar to this:

I can't even remember when I got this blush. It has lasted forever!

I like really dark blush for my pale face!

I finally tried some bronzer to compliment my pale powder.

I found something similar to this  Sugar  Baby bronzer at TJ Maxx.

Finally, brushes.

Ulta blush brush

Hate this brush. The "hairs" come out when I put on my bronzer (not blush) and they get all over my face and counter. Not sure how much longer I can handle it!

Ulta powder brush

No problems with this brush! Use it with my Bare Mineral powder!

What products do you use? Link up with Molly and Katie!

Ta ta,
