Christmas List

Finally a few minutes to blog!

I am so sad I have been so busy lately to blog. Hope my readers haven't forgotten about me! Work has just gotten crazy and traveling has made it difficult to do the smallest things like clean my room, go grocery shopping, pay bills (eek!), Christmas shop, and BLOG! I'm excited to have a free weekend this weekend to get some things done. I am really looking forward to making some Christmas goodies for friends in my new town!

For the time being, here are a couple of things I have been eyeing for Christmas. I know my family has started to read my blog and I'm sure my mom is rolling her eyes that I am doing this, but lots of bloggers have shared theirs, so why don't I share mine!

1. The first thing on my list is a pair of Uggs. I have had a fake Target pair for a couple of years and loved them even though they constantly fell off of my feet and were so worn out! I treated myself to an early Christmas gift last weekend. I think that I need (deserve, HAVE TO HAVE) these once snow season gets up and going. Luckily we haven't had more than a small flurry yet!

2. This cute Scout bag! I love Scout things and with all of my traveling, I think this would be perfect!

3.  New Bean Boots! I have had a pair of Cabela ankle duck boots and they have never been comfortable, but I have toughed it out. They are also short so walking through snow would be difficult. I was told by my elf that they are sold out, but I am hoping that was a trick!

4. Marley Lilly gift certificate. What girl doesn't want this for Christmas!

5. These Swell Caroline earrings. Not sure where I would wear them, but I want to find out!

6. Kindle! Need to get back into reading, and this will help!

What are you asking for for Christmas?

So MIA

I apologize for being MIA lately. Last week I was in Kansas City for work, then I had my sadness with my little Lil on Friday, and then I left Sunday for Chicago for work and just got home.

I'm exhausted. Burned out from traveling. Ready for a break. Internet was $14/night in the dumb Marriott so I am very MIA on everything social media related. I just have too much going on to blog and I hate it. I'm still alive though and almost at 50 followers! AH! I am contemplating doing something to celebrate, so if you have any ideas, let me know!!

I'll be back soon!

Thank you to my Secret Santa for the cute card! I have a guess at who you are but I can't wait to find out!!

All I Want for Christmas is Lily

Today I found out the saddest news ever.  My best friend, aka my little white diva named Lily has been missing for over a month.... and no one in my family (or my boyfriend who knew) told me. I am so sad that I don't even know what to do. Lily was always waiting on me every afternoon when I got home from work (see photo of her in front of my house below). She was my little pal and always made me happy. When I moved, she sat on my luggage because she knew I was leaving (see picture). Though I annoyed the hell out of her, she was still my little friend. And now she's gone. And I am 12 hours from home. I keep beating myself up saying if I hadn't moved, she'd still be there, sitting on the coffee table or on my mom's lap like she did every night (see pic).

We live out in the country, and growing up I have had a bunch of cats (yes,  I know I'm weird), but I have had Lily since I graduated from high school and every time I came home from college I would look forward to seeing her. And then I moved away. And I asked my mom tonight how my little girl was and my mom danced around my question.

Last week I had this strange feeling so I texted my brother asking, Hows Lil? Have you seen her lately. All he said was.. "yeah." That triggered my questions, but I have kind of let it go because I have been so busy with work and out of town. Then tonight I asked mom and got a strange answer. Then I called my dad, knowing he couldn't lie to me. He said he hadn't seen her in about 10 days.... Mom then told me it had been more like a month. Awesome. Now I am looking forward to going home for Christmas... No Lily.

Sorry for the depressing post, I just had to somehow express my feelings about my sadness losing my little friend. My poor mom has done everything to find her- ask our neighbors, search the house, call friends to see if they know anything. She even went to the pet store to find a new kitten and call the family I got her from, but they had no white cats. I love white cats. I always have. Guess I will be asking for a new Lily for Christmas. Maybe now Tyler will give into me getting a cat... Maybe :)

Enjoy my photo shoot of my little Diva!

Do you know where to get a new white kitten?

When in Missouri....

Hi friends!

I am off in Kansas City, Missouri until Wednesday for training for work! After a long 6 hour drive here alone, I made it. Needless to say, I do not ever want to move to the BFE Missouri that I drove through. Wow! I swear I saw a documentary on TV that Missouri is #1for meth. And, before posting that, I looked it up... "Missouri is the most meth-plagued state with 8000 labs, equipment caches and toxic dumps seized between 2002-04". Google it!! As I was driving I was thinking, "dang, I bet this state has a bunch of drugs." I was right. The highway I drove on was such a dumpy place! I was so scared to stop to get lunch or get gas because it was so sketchy.

Hope none of my readers are from Missouri. Don't get me wrong, some places in MO are great!! I really like St. Louis and the outskirts where I have been, and the scenery is gorgeous, but there is nothing here but lots of deer and corn (and meth!). I think where I am living is juuuuuust fine!

So, there was my rant. I am luckily in Kansas City, and will hopefully get to explore some Tuesday night. One of my "classmates" from training is from here so he is going to give us the tour. He also played baseball at Coastal Carolina and I was SO happy when he knew where Wofford was! Such a small world.

Hope you all had a great weekend. Let you know if anything fun happens while I am here learning about staffing/recruiting!

So This is Christmas

Happy Saturday!

As of today, it finally feels like Christmas season! Tyler and I did all of the necessary errands and decorating to make his house look Christmasy! Thanks to those of you who commented on a post over Thanksgiving about my concern about the lack of Christmas decorations! I somehow pulled it together!

Here are some snapshots of Christmas in IL!

(Apology for the blurriness of my pictures. My camera has been crummy lately!)

Our tree... Somehow our ornaments multiplied! Special ornaments: my palmetto tree, Tyler's Clemson hat, white cat for me, tractor for Tyler, flamingo for me, Tyler's duck hunting ornaments, a couple of balls and presents, a 2011 ornament, and our favorite- a 2010 ornament his mom gave us for Christmas because that was the year we met!

O Christmas Tree!

Excuse the TV, Clemson is playing (Go Tigers! [Sorry Rebecca]). Our mantle with stockings and tons of GLITTER berries. We had glitter everywhere!

Front of the house! Thinking I'll change the bow to solid red.

Glitter- see it? Tyler wasn't very happy with me! Whoops!

How are you decorating for Christmas?
