Home Sweet Main Street

I have neglected for the past 4 months of living in my new home of posting pictures! I finally got my room ALL finished, yes 4 months later, and am so happy with the final product. Because I have been traveling, my room was a complete wreck for about 2 weeks so yesterday I cleaned it to death and was able to snap some photos!

Final view of my bed! Love my coral + turquoise/light blue combo! Oh and my bedazzled canvas of course!

Up close.

Vanity. Thanks, landlord for a furnished apartment!

My pinterest inspired craft! I've been switching it up with Christmas cards, Valentines Day cards, and now it is all wedding invitations, save-the-dates, and party invitations! #weddingseason

Still not a fan of the dresser, but it is nice storage.

Such a spacious closet for all of my vests, coats, and warm things. So lucky I haven't really needed them all winter!

My first bathroom ALL to myself. Growing up I shared with my mom, in college I had a hall bathroom, suitemates, and then a roommate that I shared with. I am so happy to finally have one all to myself!

How do you decorate your space? Any good suggestions to find cute but cheap decorations?

Mall of America!

So.. I went to the Mall of America on Monday after 3 long days of working at a trade show. Until yesterday I worked 12 straight days and was absolutely exhausted. I almost didn't go to the mall, but I figured I never go shopping and when would I ever go back to the Mall of America, so I just went and had a BLAST all by my lonesome self! I normally only buy gas and groceries, so I was due for a shopping trip!

Also, I have no idea how to make a photo collage. Someone PLEASE teach me! I just don't have the patience at the moment to create one, so just hang in there through my pics. And help me learn to make a collage puhleaseee. I do have GIMP downloaded on my computer if that helps?

Anyways, I had so much fun shopping by myself! I haven't shopped in forever and needed a pick-me-up from my yuckiness over the past month.

So, here it goes!

My first stop was at the Off 5th Outlet! The 2nd shirt normally isn't my style, but I'm trying to get out of my super conservative wardrobe!

Then of course I had to hit up J Crew because we don't have one ANYWHERE near me and I don't trust buying online with my weird sizes! So excited about spring colors!

Francesca's was my next stop. Again, not one close near me! Probably my fav store!

My first purchase from Forever 21. I usually don't have patience for that store, but maybe that's changed! ;)

Needed new spring sandals so badly. And you can't go wrong with cheap cheap ones!!

I love Francesca's jewelry!

And Charlotte Russe. Cheap.

I want to go back to the mall. So jealous Stephanie is there right now!

Have you ever been to the Mall of America?

What have you bought fun lately?

Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Dear self, you need to rest and not take life so seriously. It will all be OK. You are too much of a perfectionist and sometimes too competitive. Take a deep breath. Dear work, please get better. Dear mom, thanks for letting me vent to you everyday. Dear allergies/cold/sinuses, PLEASE do not bother me anymore! I can't handle sickness right now. Dear weekend, thank you for being here. Dear mental health, thanks for improving. Big time. Dear body, please sleep well all weekend. Dear weather, please warm up!!! This week was a tease! Dear boyfriend, thanks for being so sweet to me! Dear TV, please be good tonight! Dear Lord, thank you for my overall good health, family, and friends!

Linkup with Ashley!

Rollerskating for the Ta Ta's!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I mean this in 2 ways:

1. I'm back from all of my working traveling. I am DEAD and haven't had a day off in 2 weeks, but tomorrow is Friday.
2. I'm starting to feel back to my normal self. Thanks to those of you who have been sticking by me to get myself back on track! Whew, I just needed some down time and time to get it together!

Anyways, I have finally joined the Champaign-Urbana ZTA Alumni Chapter! We had a fundraiser last night {still very small}, but it was nice to see some pink and find ladies that I have something in common with. Tyler tagged along with me for the fundraiser and was a champ the whole time!
Such a trooper and awesome boyfriend!

We went ROLLERSKATING! It was AWESOME. I am not kidding. We laughed and had an absolute blast. A ZTA alum owns the skating rink and a portion of the proceeds went to the ZTA Foundation for breast cancer awareness and education.

I haven't been rollerskating since I was a kid! We always had skating parties and this took me back to my childhood! When we had skating parties, we skated to Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Chumbawumba, NSYNC, ya know, the good 90s bands. Now it was all rap and pop music that wasn't as fun, BUT we still had a blast!

Rollerskating is such a perfect date idea. It cost us $16, went to a great cause, and was just good clean fun!

Did you know that 1 out of 8 women will contract breast cancer in her lifetime?

Although rare, younger women can also get breast cancer. Just five percent of all breast cancers occur in women under age 40.

Make sure to always check your boobies! If you feel/see anything abnormal, tell your doctor immediately!

Happy Thursday! My Mall of America purchase post will hopefully be up this weekend! :)

Traveling Again

Hi friends! I promise I haven't forgotten about my little blog. I haven't really been feeling myself lately, and didn't want to put all of that out there in the blogosphere, so I just took a break! Hopefully I'll be back at it again soon. Thanks for the sweet comments over the past couple of days and for encouragement!

I can't hang in the big girl world. I am off to another trade show and feel like I just got home from one and that was about 2 weeks ago! Phew. I am exhausted and SO ready to get back to a normal routine!

Tomorrow I'll be headed to Minneapolis for a trade show for everyone in the grain elevator world. Exciting, right? Maybe I can hit up the Mall of America if I get a free chance, but I have a feeling that I'll be picking a nap/sleeping over shopping. Yes, that tired!

I was on the hunt for comfy shoes to wear for the show because its lots of standing and walking around, but I never found any. Hope my fake danskos can handle one more show! Do you have really comfortable shoes to suggest for me to get in the future?

I'm going to spend a couple more hours with my sweet boy before I am off traveling tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend and maybe I can sneak in a blog post in the hotel!
