Traveling Again

Hi friends! I promise I haven't forgotten about my little blog. I haven't really been feeling myself lately, and didn't want to put all of that out there in the blogosphere, so I just took a break! Hopefully I'll be back at it again soon. Thanks for the sweet comments over the past couple of days and for encouragement!

I can't hang in the big girl world. I am off to another trade show and feel like I just got home from one and that was about 2 weeks ago! Phew. I am exhausted and SO ready to get back to a normal routine!

Tomorrow I'll be headed to Minneapolis for a trade show for everyone in the grain elevator world. Exciting, right? Maybe I can hit up the Mall of America if I get a free chance, but I have a feeling that I'll be picking a nap/sleeping over shopping. Yes, that tired!

I was on the hunt for comfy shoes to wear for the show because its lots of standing and walking around, but I never found any. Hope my fake danskos can handle one more show! Do you have really comfortable shoes to suggest for me to get in the future?

I'm going to spend a couple more hours with my sweet boy before I am off traveling tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend and maybe I can sneak in a blog post in the hotel!

Truth

I came across this song while on the elliptical tonight. It's one of my favorites and very appropriate for me right now. Just in one of those funks, hence the lack of blogging.

Third Day, "Call My Name"

Have a good week!

Homemade Reeses

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. I've been reading blogs, just now blogging myself. I am alive, do not fret! I was out of town last weekend for work and was just too tired to think of anything to blog about.

Catching up today with my recipe for the homemade Reeses I made for Tyler for Valentines Day! They were delicious! I have to give all of the credit to The Whimsical Princess for the recipe.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (you can really use a little bit less than 4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 cups Creamy Peanut butter (basically a small jar)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon Shortening

this was after i used all the powered sugar i had!

Directions:
Mix together the powdered sugar, peanut butter, and butter. Add the milk one tablespoon at a time until it becomes a nice workable dough.  It will be just like play dough, it will be really easy to work with.

Form the dough into egg shapes, and place in the freezer for about an hour. I made them into balls and totally missed the freezer part in the recipe. Whoops.

Place the chocolate chips and shortening in a glass measuring cup.  Microwave 1 minute at a time stirring in between until completely melted.  (You can also use a double boiler if you prefer but I don't have one)

Dip each egg/ball/whatever in the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper until set. (I use a skewer and then slide the dipped egg of and cover the hole)

not very pretty, but so good!

I then put them into the refrigerator for a while to harden, and then enjoyed them for a week! They were AWESOME!

Enjoy with a big glass of milk :)

The Things I Miss

Sorry for the photo montage that is about to take place. Lately I've been a little homesick. Kind of down. Tired of the cold, rain, and snow.

But, I have the greatest friends who have been so supportive of me!
These pictures make me SO happy and I have to share. They make me miss all of the fun we had in college, and especially as seniors. See captions about the things I miss (about college).

Seriously. I have the best friends. There were SO many of us who were close in college and there is a group of 12 of us who constantly group text and facebook message each other.

I just had to share about all of them. They are awesome.

Happy Birthday Kendall (+ MM Monday)!

Happy Birthday to one of my very best friends, the princess herself, Kendall!

Birthday Girl Last Year- Big 22!

The big 2-1.. And excuse the terrible tummy. Eek!
Kendall is one of the most incredible people I know! She is a woman of God and exemplifies it in everything she does! Kendall and I became best friends after playing club volleyball together in high school! I guess spandex helps you become friends :) Just kidding, but really we did become best friends and went to both different schools and high schools. Then we both became sisters through ZTA! Kendall is very special to me and will always be one of my best friends! We may live very far away from each other, but we ALWAYS pick up right where we left off!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENDALL! Check out her blog!

Now on to Makeover Monday!

This week's topic: lips!

Nothing special in this arena, just some cheap lipstick and lots of chapstick for my chapped lips!

Wet n wild lipstick- all of 99 cents at CVS!

Blistex of course

Eos lip balm. New fav, but doesn't last very long (must be because its organic, whoops did I say that out loud!?!)

So, there you have my luscious lip concoctions!

What do you use on your kissable lips!?

Linkup with Molly and Katie!
